PVC Rigid Board Acid Resistance Precautions
PVC Rigid Board Acid Resistance Precautions
PVC Rigid Board has excellent corrosion resistance to sulfuric acid with a concentration not exceeding 50% at room temperature (20-25 ℃), and can be used for a long time without significant corrosion or performance degradation.
Attention:
1. Temperature sensitivity:
The chemical resistance of PVC decreases sharply with increasing temperature. If the sulfuric acid temperature exceeds 40 ℃, it is recommended to use PP or PVDF instead.
2. Impurities impact:
If sulfuric acid contains oxidizing substances (such as concentrated sulfuric acid or nitric acid mixture), PVC may be oxidized and degraded, requiring additional evaluation.
3. Changes in mechanical properties:
Long term exposure to sulfuric acid may cause slight swelling of PVC (volume change<2%), and expansion space needs to be reserved in the design.
